Technicolor Prints Special Project with Gray Tone

Technicolor recently used Gray Tone pro photo lab in Hollywood to print images for a number of its facilities around the world including its new North American headquarters, located at the Sunset-Gower studios.  The historical images were selected from the Bison Archive, stills from classic Technicolor films, and also various images from the Sunset-Gower neighborhood where the first Hollywood studios and production companies were created.  The images were high res scanned then printed on Gray Tone's 72' Light Jet printer.

Sonia Paulino - Dog Walkers of Echo Park

We sponsored Sonia Paulino's Dog Walkers of Echo Park exhibition at Bandit Gallery in Los Angeles.  Below is the artist's description of this fantastic series:

"In my recent work, Dog Walkers of Echo Park, I attempt to document the changing demographic of my Los Angeles neighborhood by photographing people with their dogs around the local park. The series evolves from previous works about companionship, care, and mutual identity, with the issues of time and place being even more significant. These portraits are a proud recognition of the ordinary, presenting Los Angeles residents in a way that elicits a sense of compassion for humanity in general."

For more information on Sonia Paulino and her work, please visit her website (www.soniapaulino.com).

Tiger Munson Exhibition at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center

We printed cutting-edge photographer TIGER MUNSON's new exhibition of color prints on our 72" lightjet printer. Opening February 4, 2010,  Munson's new series explores three rarely visited aspects of life for gripping visual interest and social/cultural insight.
- Transfoto: an ongoing photo and oral history project fostering understanding of transgender individuals through portrait and story.
- Action Figure Headshots: examines the potency of hypermasculine playthings by magnifying their 3/4" heads 30 to 40 times
- Gay Bar Restrooms: featuring images of a wide range of locales, from sleek to sleazy, with an eye toward understanding the psychic effect they have on gay men. Some of the photos are life-sized to give you an experience approximating the actual spaces.

For more details please visit the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center Website.
